After 3 years at the Notcutts Wheatcroft Garden Centre in Edwalton, Nottingham, we have decided the time is right to move on.
Don't worry, our business will continue and you'll see us this year at various fairs and shows. Make sure you follow us on social to find out exactly where we are. We also rent a small farm unit near Bingham. We're happy to meet there to show you our fire pits and other steel products.
Unfortunately, the retail environment has become quite precarious for small business owners and we didn't want to commit to a long lease at the shop. The garden centre ticked many boxes for us - free customer parking and an opportunity for our customers to see our larger products. But we also saw quiet days. We have learned to evolve our business and now have a wide range of steel products beyond fire pits which are relatively easy to design and sell solely on an eCommerce platform. As we enjoy meeting our customers face to face, taking orders, feedback and product ideas, we will always have a physical presence at local fairs and shows.
Fortunately, we enjoy good sales through our website, have a solid fan base for our sports merchandise and continue to expand our steel products for the home and garden. Our memorials for your loved ones and pets are also becoming popular as an affordable alternative to a gravestone.
We will still design everything in-house and make everything in Nottingham. We're really proud of our Commercial Licenses with Nottingham Forest Football Club, the Ministry of Defence and Mansfield Town Football Club. We're about to launch our Nottingham Rugby merchandise and we have two other big sporting venues in our sights. You'll just have to keep following us.
